Free Prague Tour

Free Tour description

The first part starts on the Old Town Square with a general introduction to Prague. Admiring the impressive composition of old buildings and churches, we also become acquainted with the life of the Czech reformer Jan Hus.

Small winding lanes transport us back into Prague’s past: Mozart‘s Don Giovanni in the Estates Theatre, Karolinum – the Charles University since 1348, the cubist house of the Black Madonna and the medieval courtyard Ungelt. Time allowing we also visit the Powder Gate and the majestic art nouveau building of Municipal House.

A visit to the Jewish Quarter leads us back to its tragic history. You discover the destiny of Prague Jews living behind the wall of the former ghetto. The Old-New Synagogue, the Old Jewish Cemetery, the Jewish Museum … visit with us the places where the fabulous Golem was created, and follow with us in the footsteps of the famous Jewish writer Franz Kafka.

After this, we walk to the Marianske Square, where you have a 30-minute break from 12:45 till 13.15. At this stage you can decide whether you wish to continue after the break, or if you prefer you can come another day for the second part of the tour.

Our starting point for the second part is the beautiful baroque library of the Klementinum. Crossing the Charles Bridge, the real “open gallery under the sky”, we admire the peaceful tiny Kampa Island, followed by the graffiti on Lennon Wall. Finally we reach the Lesser Town Square, the highlight of which is the great St. Nicholas Church. After a brief visit to St. Nicholas Church, we climb 200 steps leading to the Hradcanske Square. Here we reach Prague Castle, one of the biggest fortresses in Europe. This “city within the city” contains the Schwarzenberg Palace, Archbishop’s Palace, Old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St. George … and the greatest architectural treasure – St. Vitus Cathedral. The walk finishes next to the Old Royal Palace with a charming view of Prague, the city of a hundred spires.

Dear Sir. I have just returned from Prague 18/10/09 and my wife and I would like to thank you for the efficient way we were met at the airport and delivered to out hotel. Then the on time collection from the hotel and transfer to the airport this morning. The drivers were very careful, courteous and efficient. We also took the opportunity to take the complimentary walking tour. The young lady guide was excellent. She said her name was difficult to pronounce and remember which is true, we have forgotten it. However she was in her last at university doing English and American studies. We took the tour on Friday, it was raining and cold, however she kept our spirits up and the tour interesting. She had good knowledge of all the areas and made a cold day very entertaining. If you can please pass our thanks and appreciation on to her.  Thank you again for a job well done. Regards Peter & Margaret Atkins

I`m writing to say that we went yesterday to the free tour, it was excelent, and Monica (the guide) was very very good. Alfredo posted on 20/04/2011

We did this tour on Tuesday May 4th 2010. It was without exception one of the loveliest experiences we have ever had on a city break . We had no problem finding “the lady with the red umbrella” whose name was Saska. we were the only people who turned up for the tour on the day so we had a personal guide. She is a lovely young woman a mine of information on Prague she showed us ever nook and cranny of the city giving us lots of quirky facts about it. We even saw the white peacock in all his glory !!! She organised the boat trip for us on the Wednesday night giving us her own mobile number in case we had a problem which of course we didn’t as it was another wonderful experience in spite of the rain. Thank you for making our visit to Prague so wonderfully stress free. Kieran and Mary Kennedy posted on 7/05/2010

We had a very good tour guide on Tuesday- Michaela- a knowledgible and pleasant guide with a good sense of humour- the tour was even more extensive than advertised. She deserves a raise! Kind regards, Henry and Mila Doerr posted on 11/09/2008

Having recently returned from a weekend break in Prague I feel I must thank you for the brilliant service you provided, very friendly drivers waiting exactly as promised, very good vehicles well driven with plenty of information. This combined with your Prague tour made the week-end one to remember. Thank you Alan Burston. posted on 08/11/2007

The service we got was excellent. The driver was waiting for us with a clear name board. For the return trip he was on time. The car was clean and comfortable. Our free tour was also very good. Geraldine Eagle posted on 31/10/2007
Hi, Just wanted to say that your service was excellent when we visited Prague last week. Roman was our driver for both journeys to and from the airport and he was charming, polite and very prompt. Your company was recommended to us by neighbours and I would have no hesitation in recommending you to future travellers. The 4 hour walking tour, included in the price, was also excellent, led by a very professional young lady who had so much historical information to give us. Thank you, L.Bowie posted on 15/10/2007
Hi, just wanted to echo other people’s testimonies regarding your service. Booked an airport transfer for my parents one week and for myself and my partner the following week and had no problems at all. All drivers were both prompt and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to anyone who is travelling to Prague. The tour was a bonus, the guide was again helpful and had excellent knowledge of your city, even down to directions and travelling times to the ice hockey game that evening! Thanks for helping our trip to Prague run that bit more smoothly. Chris ‘Badger’ Chapman posted on 29/09/2007
