Poland's Mountain Resort Below the Tatras
Zakopane lies in southern Poland at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, the highest range of the Carpathians, close to the Slovak border. It is Poland's best-known mountain resort, busy with skiers in winter and hikers in summer. Its main street, Krupówki, is lined with shops, restaurants and wooden houses, and a funicular climbs Gubałówka hill for wide views of the peaks.
A cable car from Kuźnice runs up Kasprowy Wierch, one of the town's ski areas, and the Tatra National Park begins at the edge of town, with Morskie Oko lake among its best-known sights. Zakopane is also known for its highlander culture and its own style of wooden architecture. With skis and family luggage, a private car takes you door to door.

Stopover Tip
With a detour, you can stop in Kraków, with its Main Square, Wawel Castle and the old Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, about 100 km before Zakopane. Your driver waits while you look around.

Waiting Charge
If the driver waits for you or you book a multi-stop transfer, for example while you visit one city before continuing to another, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
Minivan Special Offer
Many airport taxis take only three passengers and may not fit large bags in a sedan. We take groups of up to four passengers with their luggage in a larger vehicle at a special price: choose “Minivan” (4 seats) when you book online. The offer does not apply to groups of five or more, who travel by minibus at the standard price.
FAQs: Transfers Between Prague and Zakopane
Zakopane is a long way from Prague. From Prague Centre it is about 550 km, which usually takes around 6½ hours without stops. From Prague Airport it is about 570 km and also around 6½ hours. Plan for a few breaks on the way; short stops are free.
Yes. Skis and snowboards take up extra room, so choose a minivan or a larger vehicle when you book and tell us how many pairs you bring. After heavy snow, mountain roads can be slow, so allow a little extra time.
Yes. We drive between Prague and Zakopane in both directions. If your transfer does not start in Prague, you must pay for it in full in advance.
Yes. All our drivers speak English as well as their native Czech, and some speak other languages too. They are happy to talk about local culture, share tips on places of interest and answer your questions.
Yes. Short stops along the way are free. If you stop for longer, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
For a group of three to six passengers on a longer trip, with plenty of luggage, we recommend our minivan. For up to two passengers with large bags, or three with medium-sized bags, a sedan is the better choice and gives you a more comfortable ride. Not sure? Let us know in advance and we will send a roomier minivan instead of the sedan, for the sedan price.
Yes to both. Baby seats are required by law, and for your baby’s safety we provide them free of charge.
The price we quote is final: there are no extra fees for our services or for short stops. Waiting charges for optional longer stops are not included. You will have no surprises or additional fees.
