From Karl-Marx-Stadt to Capital of Culture
Chemnitz is the third-largest city in Saxony and lies at the foot of the Ore Mountains. It grew rich in the 19th century from textile mills and machine building, and from 1953 to 1990 it was called Karl-Marx-Stadt. The huge bronze head of Karl Marx from that time still stands in the centre and is now the city's best-known landmark. In 2025 Chemnitz was a European Capital of Culture.
Around the market square stand the Old and New Town Halls, with the medieval Red Tower nearby. Art lovers visit the Gunzenhauser Museum with its works by Otto Dix, the State Museum of Archaeology in a former department store by Erich Mendelsohn, and the Saxon Industrial Museum. A private transfer takes you straight to your hotel, the university or a business address, with no changes on the way.

Fares, waiting and larger groups
We Offer Three Fares
Waiting Charge
If the driver waits for you or you book a multi-stop transfer, for example while you visit one city before continuing to another, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
Minivan Special Offer
Many airport taxis take only three passengers and may not fit large bags in a sedan. We take groups of up to four passengers with their luggage in a larger vehicle at a special price: choose “Minivan” (4 seats) when you book online. The offer does not apply to groups of five or more, who travel by minibus at the standard price.
