The Town of Saaz Hops
Žatec is a royal town on the river Ohře in north-west Bohemia and the home of Saaz hops, the fine aromatic hop used in classic Czech lager. Hops have been grown here for centuries, and in 2023 Žatec and the Landscape of Saaz Hops was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, with its hop fields, drying kilns and old hop warehouses.
In town you can visit the Hop Museum in a former hop warehouse and the Temple of Hops and Beer with its hop lighthouse, and walk around the historic old town above the river. Every September the Dočesná festival celebrates the end of the hop harvest. With a private transfer, everyone in your group can enjoy the beer, because nobody has to drive.

Stopover Tip
The Lidice memorial, on the site of the village the Nazis destroyed in 1942, is just off the motorway near Prague. Add it as a stop and your driver waits while you visit.

Waiting Charge
If the driver waits for you or you book a multi-stop transfer, for example while you visit one city before continuing to another, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
Minivan Special Offer
Many airport taxis take only three passengers and may not fit large bags in a sedan. We take groups of up to four passengers with their luggage in a larger vehicle at a special price: choose “Minivan” (4 seats) when you book online. The offer does not apply to groups of five or more, who travel by minibus at the standard price.
FAQs: Transfers Between Prague and Žatec
From Prague Airport it is about 75 km, which usually takes just under an hour. From Prague Centre it is about 85 km and around 1 hour 10 minutes. Rush hour in Prague can add some time.
Yes. Book the Same Day Return fare: you pay the one-way fare plus a waiting charge, and the journey back is free. It is the cheapest option when you go there and back on the same day. Tell us when you want to leave Žatec and your driver will be ready.
Yes. We drive between Prague and Žatec in both directions. If your transfer does not start in Prague, you must pay for it in full in advance.

Yes. Short stops along the way are free. If you stop for longer, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
For a group of three to six passengers on a longer trip, with plenty of luggage, we recommend our minivan. For up to two passengers with large bags, or three with medium-sized bags, a sedan is the better choice and gives you a more comfortable ride. Not sure? The price we quote is final: there are no extra fees for our services or for short stops. Waiting charges for optional longer stops are not included. You will have no surprises or additional fees.
