The Gateway to Saxon Switzerland
Pirna lies on the Elbe about 20 km upstream from Dresden, at the edge of Saxon Switzerland. Its old town has kept many Renaissance and Baroque houses around the market square, which the Venetian painter Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto, painted in the 18th century. Above the roofs rises St Mary's Church, a large late Gothic hall church.
On the hill above the town stands Sonnenstein Castle. In 1940 and 1941 the Nazis murdered thousands of sick and disabled people here, and a memorial now remembers them. The Bastei rocks and Königstein Fortress are a short drive away. A private transfer takes you and your luggage straight to your hotel or holiday flat, with no changes on the way.

Stopover Tip
The Bastei rock bridge, high above the Elbe in Saxon Switzerland, is a short detour from Pirna. Add it as a stop on your way and your driver waits while you walk out to the viewpoints.

Waiting Charge
If the driver waits for you or you book a multi-stop transfer, for example while you visit one city before continuing to another, a waiting charge is added to your fare.
Minivan Special Offer
Many airport taxis take only three passengers and may not fit large bags in a sedan. We take groups of up to four passengers with their luggage in a larger vehicle at a special price: choose “Minivan” (4 seats) when you book online. The offer does not apply to groups of five or more, who travel by minibus at the standard price.

For a group of three to six passengers on a longer trip, with plenty of luggage, we recommend our minivan. For up to two passengers with large bags, or three with medium-sized bags, a sedan is the better choice and gives you a more comfortable ride. Not sure?
